Min-Te Chen has expertise in using multiple proxy records of microfossil, biogenic and terrestrial components, isotopic, inorganic and organic chemical records from marine sediments to better understand the mechanisms responsible for driving Quaternary oceanic climate changes in the Indo-Pacific Ocean. His teaching includes general introduction to the Ocean, Earth system, climate changes, and special topics oriented to MS and Ph.D. thesis research relevant to paleoceanography and paleoclimatology. Research projects are active in evolution of Quaternary Pacific Ocean, western Pacific marginal seas climate in the past 2000 years, the past glacial to interglacial paleoceanography of the Bering Sea and NW Pacific, and gas hydrate investigation in SW offshore of Taiwan.
